Smashbox Quartz Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Eyeshadow

Smashbox Quartz Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Eyeshadow; Smashbox Quartz Cream Shadow

Smashbox Quartz Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a mid-toned rose gold with a shimmery, almost metallic finish.  Quartz is on the warmer side, but it's not overly warm so it should flatter most skin tones.  It's similar to (but more shimmery) than Benefit R.S.V.P. Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner.

The texture of this product is extremely creamy allowing it to glide onto the eye without any tugging or pulling.  Quartz has a large amount of shimmer but the texture is not gritty or rough which was a pleasant surprise.  Due to the amount of shimmer, Quartz is a bit more sheer than I was hoping for but the product can be built up to full opaqueness.  The dry down time is about 30 seconds - enough time to blend the product to your liking before applying more if you so desire.

Quartz is a versatile shade that can be worn on its own or sheered out for a subtle wash of color, layered with other creams for a dynamic effect, or as a base under powder shadows.   It looks gorgeous sheered out all over the lid with MAC Quarry through the crease and Urban Decay Foxy on the brow bone.

Although Smashbox claims that these shadows last up to 15 hours, Quartz lasted a little over 12 hours on me before I noticed that it has began to fade/crease ever so slightly.  In my opinion, 12 hours is still great as I usually remove my makeup after about 12-13 hours.  I do recommend this product if you're looking for a cream shadow with some sheen!

  1. Would you say this is warmer than MUFE Aqua Cream #13? I'm trying to love it but it I think it's TOO light for me!

    1. I do think that Quartz is warmer. MUFE #13 is more of a beige gold - Quartz has more of a rosy pull to it. I prefer the texture of the Smashbox creams over the MUFE Aqua Creams! Aqua Creams dry down too quickly for me and are troublesome when it comes to blending.
